No automated decisions with legal effects on you are taken (GDPR art. 22): the assessment of your playing only guides your practice.
Your account's data and a guest's, until you ask us to erase them. When you do, they are deleted, and the backups that still hold them are removed by their automatic rotation, at most 16 days later. Statistics data, for the retention period set in Google Analytics, at most 14 months. Sessions: a guest's, 400 days; your account's, 30 days from signing in. Technical logs are kept in files of limited size that are overwritten automatically. Where required, data is blocked while liabilities may arise from it (art. 32 of Spain's Organic Law 3/2018).
Keeping and syncing what you practise, as a guest or in your account, and signing in: the performance of the contract for the service you ask for (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)). Without this data we cannot keep anything for you on the server. The security of the service and the technical logs: our legitimate interest in protecting the service and its users (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)), which does not override your rights because the logs serve no other purpose and are overwritten. Statistics: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time in Settings → About → "Analytics cookies", without affecting the lawfulness of processing before.
No data is passed to third parties, unless the law requires it. Processing on the controller's behalf, as processors: Contabo (server, Germany), Cloudflare, Inc. (network and protection of the site: every request passes through it) and Google (Google Analytics, if you accept it). To sign you in, Google processes your data under its own privacy policy. Piano sounds are downloaded from public sample libraries (GitHub Pages and goldst.dev), which, like any web server, see your browser's IP address. Cloudflare and Google may process data in the United States; those transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1795), in which they are certified, and on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses; you can ask us for a copy of these safeguards at [email protected].

Technical and preference cookies are needed for the service you ask for and need no consent (art. 22.2 of Spain's Law 34/2002, LSSI). Google Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them in the notice shown on arrival; you can change your choice in Settings → About → "Analytics cookies", and withdrawing it deletes them. Your choice is kept for 180 days; then you are asked again.
If you are under 14, only your mother, father or guardian can accept the statistics cookies (art. 7 of Spain's Organic Law 3/2018).
Anyone has the right to confirmation of whether we process personal data about them. You can access your data, ask for inaccurate data to be rectified or for erasure, ask for processing to be restricted, object to it and ask for your data to be ported, by writing to [email protected]; we will ask for what we need to check that the data is yours. You can object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on our legitimate interest (GDPR art. 21(1)). If you think we have not met your request, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
We may update this policy, for example for legal or service changes; the date of the last update is at the top.
